DFP NAME:

SAR Crohn's Disease DFP

 

MISSION:

The SAR Crohn’s disease-Focused Panel mission is to foster a close collaborative environment among radiologists and clinical colleagues involved in the care of patients with Crohn’s disease and other bowel related diseases. The aim is to develop educational materials, joint recommendations and scientific collaborations that will help advance the knowledge in the field.   

 

DFP GOALS:

  1. To improve patient care through the dissemination of up to date knowledge related to the Crohn's disease or other bowel related diseases by experts in the field.
  2. To collaborate with other orgnizations such as the ESGAR (European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology), the AGA (America Gastrointestinal Association), the SSAT (Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract) and NASPGHAN (North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition) to develop consensus statements and educational or scientific publications related to the current up to date knowledge in the field.
  3. Collaborate with the ACR (American College of Radiology) on developing and updating the practice guidelines for the performance of CT enterography.

Update (2015)

 

  1. First consensus statement to standardize the definition, lexicon and reporting of imagining findings in CD, written by lead author JG Fletcher, M.D. "Consensus Guidelines for Evaluation, Nomenclature and Interpretation for CT and MR Enterography in Crohn's Disease Patients," is in the final approval phase by the different societies before publication.
  2. Several publications related to CD were published in 2015 in Abdominal Radiology, the official journal of the SAR.
  3. Updating the material for the small bowel course given during the yearly meeting.
